In today’s turbulent world, Islam is often on the front page, mostly for the wrong reasons. Islam means peace and the vast majority of Muslims live this peace in their lives, following its principles. But there have been people who hijacked Islam and tried to describe it as a faith that tolerates violence, citing casual acts, of despicable and violent actions, only for personal and political gain. Seeing a faith through sudden events, judging it by the actions of a misguided few, and the consequences generated by the media frenzy, are some of the reasons why Islam is often misunderstood. Unfortunately, Islamophobia and an increase in adversity against Muslims are widespread from this.
To this end, the EML, through its agency the International Council for Cooperation and Peace (ICCP), has signed a memorandum of collaboration with Crime Stoppers Spain for the defense and abuses against the Islamic community in Europe.
Each member of the Islamic community has the opportunity to anonymously report:
1 fight Islamophobia;
2 personal offenses against the person as a Muslim;
3 defamation of honor and race as a foreigner;
4 threats against the person;
5 any presence of extremists in Islamic centers that threaten the security of the country;
6 deviant teachings not corresponding to true Islam that can cause radicalization and extremism;
7 threats and violent acts of the husband towards his wife or children when they go beyond the normal teachings of religion;
8 episodes of social indiscrimination for one’s religion;
9 what can be reported because it is contrary to the laws of the State and its legality.
10 report impediments to the opening of Islamic centers by political forces when they are unjustified and against the laws of the state or the region.
11 report episodes of social and food indiscrimination when, for example, halal food is requested in hospitals and schools, denying the Muslim subject any possibility and this leads to impatience and frustration.
